Artist: Art Dog Studio
Brenda Philp is an Edmonton based fibre artist who creates unique and functional wearable art. Her passion for colour, composition and texture are influenced by a lifelong love of the arts and music. She was introduced to felting in 2009, and remains fascinated by the endless possibilities of this colourful, tactile and expressive artistic medium. Brenda believes that every encounter offers the potential for experimentation and discovery. Wool is a renewable, natural fibre that can be manipulated in many ways to create contemporary wearable art pieces. For Brenda, creating wearable art with natural materials is a way of connecting the past to the present. She blends ancient techniques with a modern twist to design and produce practical and unique works of art.
