Chamber Choir - ages 10-19, auditioned
The Cantilon Chamber Choir is Western Canada’s only professional level children’s choir. Singers in this ensemble demonstrate a high level of commitment to choral singing and to sharing this art with audiences at home and around the world. The Chamber Choir forms the core of Cantilon’s touring and recording program and participates in many exciting and unique activities throughout the year. In addition to its regular concert series, the Chamber Choir is often invited to perform with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Pro Coro Canada, Edmonton Opera and the Richard Eaton Singers. Cantilon Chamber Choir has just released their third CD, Bonny Wood Green.
Belle Canto - adult female voices, auditioned
This diverse ensemble of adult female voices shares the common goal of making high quality choral music. Belle Canto was the first choir formed in the Cantilon family and remains its only adult ensemble. In touring and recording, Belle Canto has distinguished itself as one of today’s foremost women’s ensembles.
Originally a group of university students, the choir now consists of amateur singers from all walks of life. Belle Canto particularly enjoys exploring the contemporary repertoire of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and has recorded much of this repertoire on their disc, Invocation.
