The Sichuan Acrobatics and Dance Troupe
Sichuan Professional Art Institute Performance Troupe is built on the energy and the vitality of its young recruits and the resourcefulness of its more experienced members. The troupe produces high-quality variety shows. Its works include Sichuan Opera classic pieces, like “Pi Jin -- Rolling around with a Lamp on his head”, “Geese Hunting” and “Sichuan Opera Medley”, folk dances, like “Red Skirts”’, “A Moonlit Night in the Spring by the River” and “Sexy Young Lassies”, and acrobatic pieces, like “Three Little Monks” and “Jumping Hoops”. All these exciting works are performed by beautiful and talented actors. Together they contribute to the success of a memorable and enchanting evening, which affords the audience with a glimpse of the splendour and richness of the Chinese folk culture.
The troupe’s Western Canada Chinese New Year Tour is led by the headmaster of Sichuan Professional Art Institute Lin Geer and the Plum Blossom Prize winner Xiao Demei. In the recent years, the troupe has travelled to more than 20 countries, including U.S.A., England, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Japan, Hong Kong and Macao, where they received the well deserved appreciation.
