Runs April 7-17, 2010
Originally from Winnipeg, Robert Clinton has lived and worked for many years in Edmonton. Since the premiere of The Mail Order Bride at Theatre Network in April 1988, the play has become a Canadian classic. However, it has not been seen in Edmonton since its première over 20 years ago. It is about three generations of a prairie family, who often appear onstage together in different times. It is about family, and about loss. We discover the family history by the end of the play, as resentments and grudges are faced and grappled with and resolved. The situations are familiar, the characters are complex and often funny, and the play is ultimately hopeful.
This season, the first Thursday of the run is 2-for-1 at the door only, cash only.
