South American guitar icon - a true ambassador for the guitar
Paraguayan-born Berta Rojas, one of today’s most sought after concert guitarists, moves easily between musical styles, and has won special praise for her interpretations of music by Agustín Barrios.
Berta Rojas performs frequently in such prestigious venues as the South Bank Centre in London, Washington’s Kennedy Center and the Lincoln Center in New York City. She has also recorded many well-received CDs, including Alma y Corazón, a recent duo collaboration with Brazilian great Carlos Barbosa-Lima.
Ms. Rojas is currently Professor of Guitar at George Washington University in Washington, DC and is Paraguay’s Ambassador of Tourism.
