This forum was founded by concerned Canadians on the ever escalating conflicts between the borders of Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. Our mission is to improve the prospect of sustainable and everlasting peace in South Asia. Our first event invited Hon. Doug Roche to speak to the Canadian community on the evils of nuclear threat and the sanctity of peace. Our upcoming event has attracted two South Asian scholars from US of Indo-Pakistani heritage Prof. Vijay Prashad, an expert on South Asian History and Politics and Ms. Rafia Zakaria, a lawyer by profession and the first Pakistani American woman to serve as a Director for Amnesty International. We have invited several members of Alberta Provincial Assembly, few Members from Edmonton City Council and the enlightened academics to take notice of our activities and convince the politicians in the corridors of power in India and Pakistan that ‘Dialogue’ is the way forward to resolve conflicts. The speeches will be followed by dinner and a light entertainment of classical Indian dance and traditional music.
