TIX on the square adds a small fee to the price of event tickets. This fee covers the operating costs of this web site and the TIX box office.
The Alberta Baroque will present its final concert of the 30th Anniversary Season on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at 3p.m at Robertson-Wesley United Church. The program, titled A Baroque Bouquet, features music by baroque composers Handel, Bach and Blavet plus a world premiere of a work by Edmonton composer Allan Gilliland, commissioned by the Alberta Baroque Ensemble to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. Gilliland’s composition, Concerto for Baroque Orchestra, will feature members of the Alberta Baroque Ensemble as soloists.
Guest artists for this concert are Elizabeth Koch, principal flute of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, who will perform Michel Blavet’s Concerto for Flute in A Minor and Dianne New, principal second violin also of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, who will perform Bach’s Concerto for Three Violins in D Major with ABE members Susan Flook and Heather Bergen.
