Jubiloso! Bells of Concordia presents a varied program of handbell music at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 20 at Edmonton Moravian Church (9540 - 83 Ave.) The sublime derives its source from William Payn's Crossroads, Kathleen Wissinger's All Time and Space the spiritual, I Want Jesus to Walk with Me, a setting of a Taiwanese folk song and a short minuet by J. S. Bach. On the other hand, Furioso and Plink, Plank, Plunk provides elements of the ridiculous. Guest soloist for the concert is Jennifer Shack, flute. Under the direction of Dr. John Hooper and coached by Alison Wood, the ensemble performs upon six and a half octaves of Malmark handbells, five octaves of Schulmerich melodychimes and six octaves of Malmark handchimes, as well as five octave of historic Whitechapel handbells, one of the largest sets of bells and chimes in the country. Jubiloso personnel have taught about handbells and handbell music at conventions and conferences throughout Canada as well as in the United States and abroad.
