World Premiere By Kevin Kerr, U of A Lee Playwright-In-Residence A University of Alberta / Realwheels Co-production Co-commissioned by the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad Directed by Bob Frazer Featuring James Sanders and the U of A BFA acting class (2010) At your very core, who are you? While travelling the universe of avatars, inhabiting online realities and identities, a man discovers the intriguing possibility of reinventing his physical body through a blend of ambitious, cutting-edge technologies and ethically questionable experiments. It is a thrilling hunt for the body that will best define us, in a world where the virtual can be more real than the real itself. This new creation is co-produced with Realwheels; a Vancouver-based professional theatre company that creates world-class art, such as their previous smash hit Skydive, which deepens the audience's understanding of the disability experience. In March 2010, SPINE will cross the Rockies to be presented as part of the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad and celebratory opening of Simon Fraser University's School for the Contemporary Arts in the new Woodward's complex.
