Connection to Edmonton’s Arts Community:
I am an avid volunteer with many theatre companies and the Folk Festival and I am an actor and singer in community theatre performing in a couple of shows a year.

Favourite Thing about TIX:
Knowing what is happening in Edmonton at any given time and seeing so much wonderful theatre and music.  Edmonton is blessed with many talented and original performers and companies.

Recommends:
The Shakespeare Festival and the Folk Festival, oh and the Street Performers Festival and check out our site to see what else is going on!

Name: Betty

Amateur Trombone player, fan of: instrumental jazz (especially with trombones), choral, Renaissance and early Renaissance music, a well written play.

Favorite thing about live entertainment:
The ENERGY that the performers bring to the room, especially in a live improvised show.

Recommends:
MacEwan/U of A Big Band concert  April 12, Edmonton Jazz Society's Taste of Argentina May 4 (Wine & Jazz), and the Mill Creek Colliery Band's Salute to the Proms May 8 (lots of brass and trombones).

Most memorable experience as an audience member in Edmonton?
Recently I saw Darrin Hagen’s “Buddy” at the Roxy Theatre.  The show was great and the multi-media element was quite innovative.  I’d never seen anything like it before.

Recommends:
The Fringe Festival, or the Edmonton International Jazz Festival.

Name: Brian

Connection to Edmonton’s Arts Community:
I have served alcohol and tickets to several of Edmonton's most prominent theatre/dance/opera artists. In my spare time I am a theatre practitioner. I am also a disgruntled graduate student at the University of Alberta completing my Masters of Arts in Theatre and Performance Studies.

Most memorable experience as an audience member in Edmonton?
"The Well Being" at the Catalyst many years ago. Watermelon and theatre is a wonderful mix.

Recommends:
1) Folk Fest. 2) Fringe Festival.

Name: Rebecca

Connection to Edmonton’s Arts Community:
Writer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist in Edmonton art-folk-noir band F&M. Casual volunteer for the Alberta Music Industry Association, and part of the Shameless Records Canada family.  Heckler to those overly handsome Wheat Pool boys.

Favourite Thing about TIX:
Creating awareness of the great arts scene in Edmonton and helping people discover new art.

Recommends:
Edmonton Recital Society,  Events at Haven Social Club, The Free Will Shakespeare Festival, or catch any F&M show!
