New & Improved TIX Website

Posted on: May 12th, 2017

The new website is officially up!

TIX on the Square was created by the Edmonton Arts Council in 1999. Originally intended to operate as a rush ticket booth, it has developed into a vital hub connecting local artists and community groups with audiences. TIX supports the arts community with a variety of professional services including box office, media relations support, and social media promotion, all for a nominal fee.

In spring 2011, TIX extended its role to connect audiences with Edmonton's visual and craft artists and began operating a retail space, taking over the operations of The Edmonton City Store. The retail space features a wide range of unique, handcrafted products including pottery, jewelry, photography, fabric arts and more. TIX also showcases books from local authors, music by regional musicians, and historic prints from the City of Edmonton Archives.

In 2015 we knew there was a growing need for a more advance and adaptive ticketing system for our clients and customers. The move to our new robust ticketing software has allowed us to support our clients better but made us aware of our website's limitations with customers. Working with Box Clever we are so happy with the end result.

On the new website can now easily search events by category, name or organization. Our venue pages contain more information as well as including upcoming TIX events and a map view. The TIX artist directory is beautiful and allows you to filter by medium making it easy for you to discover the perfect gift. Best of all, you can use our site easily on your phone so you can discover events wherever you are!
