Our second edition of the Roots series is presented under the direction of Mykola Hobdych, founder and director of the Kyiv Chamber Choir. A choral specialist with an extensive background in the sacred and secular a cappella music of Ukraine, Hobdych will lead the choir through one thousand years of Ukrainian sacred music with treasures from the Baroque period to classics by Vedel and Leontoych to works by contemporaries such as Sylvestrov, connecting our community with our musical roots in eastern Europe.
