Join the Edmonton Chamber Music Society for their Summer Solstice Music Festival from June 16-24.

The Edmonton Chamber Music Society is welcoming the summer sun with some musical fun this June! With five different concerts to attend, there's something for everyone.

Thursday, June 16: Cellist Caroline Stinson, assisted by Rafael Hoekman. Performance begins at 7:30PM. - Advanced tickets sold out!

Performing: "Fantasie Française” Enjoy the warm sound of solo cello and duos in a concert featuring works by early French composers, such as Couperin and Marais to the modern Prévost, all while eating cake (as well as other savouries).

Advanced tickets for this event are now sold out! There will be limited standing room only tickets available at the door for $10.

Saturday, June 18: Violinist Blake Pouliot, assisted by Patricia Tao, piano, Gabrielle Després, violin, Laura Veeze, viola and Caroline Stinson, cello. Pre-concert performance begins at 7PM, main concert begins at 7:30PM.

Performing: "Summer Passion" Welcome the refined and impassioned young violinist Blake Pouliot, in this program exploring the Romantic spirit with works by Clara Schumann, Brahms, and Amy Beach.

Tuesday, June 21: Performed by grant recipients of the Anne Burrows Music Foundation. Pre-concert performance begins at 7PM, main concert begins at 7:30PM.

Not deterred by the pandemic, two years later than planned, we help the ABMF celebrate their 40th year of supporting young artists. Hear the incredible talent of former foundation recipients, all who have gone on to or are starting professional music careers.

Performing: Octet in E-flat major / Mendelssohn

  3. Scherzo: Allegro leggierissimo
  4. Presto
An original work by conductor and composer Michael Massey will also be performed.

Thursday, June 23: Kenari Saxophone Quartet. Performance begins at 7:30PM - TIX on the Square is not selling tickets for this event. Please purchase your tickets here

Praised for their “electrifying stage presence and seductive sound,” ECMS welcomes their first saxophone quartet with the Kenari Saxophone Quartet! With their beautiful sound and seamless ensemble work, experience a new sonic world, all while eating great food and sipping on delicious drink offerings.

Friday, June 24: Kenari Saxophone Quartet. Pre-concert performance begins at 7PM, main concert begins at 7:30PM.

Perfoming: “The Untapped Sonorities of the Saxophone”

Venue: Muttart Hall, Alberta College Campus, 10050 MacDonald Drive NW

Enjoy a more “traditional” program from the Kenari, with arrangements of works by Bach and Schumann, as well as new works written for the saxophone quartet.
