Join Northern Lights Folk Club for their presentation of Women of Folkways, on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Parkview Community Hall, 9135 146 Street NW. Doors open at 7PM, show at 8PM.
A co-presentation with Winter Roots Roundup (Sound Studies Institute at the University of Alberta), the Women of Folkways concert is a celebration by women of women in the Folkways Records catalogue. In 2021, we saw these performers virtually from around North America, now we will see them on the same stage, sharing their harmonies and instrumentation! Join Shawna Caspi, Maria Dunn, Linda McRae, Terry Morrison, and Dana Wylie for a collaborative singer-in-the-round concert where they will explore and celebrate the music of Folkways by presenting new interpretations of traditional folk songs, as well as their original songs to expand the tradition.
