From Cradle to Stage: An Evening of New Works, May 14, 2018 – May 19, 2018

Join Walterdale for a night of new work written by local Edmonton playwrights. Plays running 45-60 minutes will be considered. New, unproduced work can be submitted to Walterdale for consideration. Playwrights selected for the festival will work closely with a dramaturg and will workshop their production or piece on the Walterdale stage.

This year’s new play is Water Beneath Her Feet by Kristen M. Finlay, directed by Sheldan Ishaq.

Featuring: Brittany Hinse, Wylee Johnston, Matt Boisvert, and dale Wilson.

Water Beneath Her Feet explores the question of what knowing where you come from mean about who you are and how you see yourself. In the play, Janey returns to her childhood home to learn more about her mother’s mental illness and what it might mean for herself and her own children.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the production David, Lies, Liza will not be produced as a part of From Cradle to Stage 2018. In its place we will be presenting staged readings of infant scripts from playwrights in Walterdale's membership. A schedule of these readings will be up on Walterdale's website in the coming days

Tickets are $20 for Adults and $18 for Seniors 60+, plus applicable fees.
