In 2009, Juan-Miguel Hernandez won First Prize at the 16th International Johannes Brahms Competition, adding to other top prizes won at the National Canadian Music Competition and the 9th National Sphinx Competition. A dedicated chamber musician, Juan-Miguel has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Lynn Harrell, and Kim Kashkashian, as well as jazz living legends Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Stanley Clark, and Paquito D’Rivera. He was a member of the legendary Fine Arts Quartet and founding member of the Harlem Quartet. He joins distinguished musicians of the Edmonton community in a program of great chamber music.
