Tengyue Zhang is the first prize winner of the 2017 Guitar Foundation of American International Concert Artist Competition, perhaps the most prestigious classical guitar competition in the world. Tengyue Zhang has given recitals in Europe, China and the United States, and has won first prizes in such important events as the Alexander Frauchi International Competition in Moscow and the Schadt String Competition in the United States. His Guitar Foundation of American competition win will take him on a fifty-city tour of North America, with additional concerts in Europe, South America and China. His debut CD, for the Naxos “Laureate” series, was released in June, 2018 and includes works by Bach, Scarlatti, Brouwer, Assad, Tansman and Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
