The concert features Nora Bumanis - harp and Heeyun Park - soprano. Music includes the Concerto for Harp by Handel, the Aria Piangero la sorte mia from Handel’s opera Julius Ceasar and the Tafelmusik Suite No.3 by Telemann.

Nora Bumanis has been Principal Harpist of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra since 1980. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she studied with Judy Loman. In addition to her busy orchestral schedule, Ms. Bumanis is much in demand as a soloist, recitalist and teacher. She has performed with most of the leading Canadian symphony orchestras. Nora has given recitals in Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Seattle, Prague, and Mexico City. She is also in great demand as a chamber musician and has frequently been broadcast on CBC radio and television.

Heeyun Park is a fourth year B.Mus. Voice Performance student at the University of Alberta and is the most recent recipient of the Alberta Baroque Ensemble Scholarship at the University of Alberta. She has won several scholarships and competitions over the years in Edmonton and recently performed the role of Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) in concert at the Winspear with the University Symphony Orchestra. Her recent operatic roles have been Princess Laoula (L'etoile) and Cis (Albert Herring).
