The BMC Organ Trio is a soul jazz trio from Toronto featuring Ben Bishop on guitar, Jeff McLeod on organ, and Morgan Childs on drums. The group plays original music and classic soul jazz repertoire from the glory days of 1960s Blue Note Hammond organ groups led by Jimmy Smith, Wes Montgomery, Don Patterson, and Lonnie Smith.

Featuring the distinctive and powerful sound of the Hammond organ, the BMC Organ Trio's music is soulful, upbeat and thoroughly funky! They bring you the classic sounds of the organ trio with all its bluesy, groovy and swinging goodness. The trio plays a wide range of material spanning many decades from the classic tunes of Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery to fresh adaptations of pop and soul tunes, from brand-new originals to beautiful under-played standards from the Great American Songbook.

The trio formed in 2008 while Jeff McLeod and Ben Bishop were both living in Rochester, New York, studying at the Eastman School of Music. Their shared love of the classic Hammond organ/guitar/drums bands of the 1950s and 60s led them to form this trio. They went into the studio in 2012 to record a full record of material for Jeff's release “Double Entendre”. This record earned a nomination for Jazz Album of the Year at the 2012 Western Canadian Music Awards. In 2015, with Bishop and McLeod both settled in Toronto, the trio jumped back into action this time with the ever-swinging Morgan Childs on drums.
