Amarcord is a German male classical a cappella vocal group based in Leipzig, founded in 1992 by five former members of the Thomanerchor. The ensemble performs a vast range of music, from medieval plainsong to madrigals and Renaissance masses, to compositions and cycles of works of the European Romantic period and the 20th century, to jazz and New Music. Amarcord has won prizes at many international competitions and its diverse repertoire is available on numerous CDs.

PROGRAM
Benedicamus Domino: Let us praise the Lord.
For centuries, composers have sought to set to music their hopes and doubts about the Christian promise of salvation. Amarcord presents a string of impressive examples from the 19th and 20th centuries, as much disturbing as comforting. Composers include Hugo Wolf, Richard Strauss, Max Reger, Carl Orff, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc, and Krysztof Penderecki.

Tickets are Regular $50, $45 for Seniors (65+), and $15 for Students, plus applicable fees.
