New Moon Folk Club presents Jon Brooks on Friday, March 27th - 7:30PM at St. Basil's Cultural Centre, 10819 71 Ave

Quintessential Modern Folk Singer.
Jon Brooks Music

Jon Brooks writes songs to calm those who've looked into and seen what is in their hearts; he also writes songs to terrify those who’ve not.
His latest album, No One Travels Alone, made NPR’s Global Village Best of 2018 list. The album is a meditation on the atomic, the digital, the animals, the environment, the unknown Gods, and the stars. More essentially: the interconnectedness of all life - hence the title and the linkages between the songs by last and first lines. It is the first album in popular music written in this circular, corona form, chosen to reflect the album’s essential theme of interconnectedness.

Jon has the honour of holding the record for most nominations by The Canadian Folk Music Awards in the category of English Songwriter of the Year, and becoming the 4th Canadian since 1975 to win the prestigious Kerrville (Texas) Folk Festival 'New Folk Award’.

“(Brooks) speaks and sings words that need to be spoken and sung and he does it beautifully, perfectly, and with absolute finesse.”
– Rod Kennedy, Founder and Producer of The Kerrville Folk Festival, Kerrville, TX

Tickets are $23, and $27 at the door (subject to availability), plus applicable service charges.
